Trey Timberlake is a rising senior at the University of California, Berkeley. He is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and a minor in English. Timberlake’s love for writing, design, photography, comedy and friendship unite to birth On The Fringe: his own brand through which he explores the world. While On The Fringe started as a fashion blog, it has very quickly spread its wings. OTF offers its own podcasts, short stories, speeches, reviews, photoshoots, videos and much much more. OTF is a luxurious closet of intersecting aesthetics, with love, pride, queerness, vulnerability and cheeky word play serving as its signature pieces. Trey Timberlake has found that carving his own little corner of the world has allowed him to expand in unprecedented ways; yesterday he had on his photographer hat, and today his reporter loafers, and tomorrow his writer's sweater—there is no limit to what he can create!

Timberlake is most inspired by love and finds that he produces his best work when he memorializes his appreciation for the world, his friends, his family, and himself. He believes that art/creativity is the universal language and reflects most clearly one’s true nature. Thus, he has used On The Fringe as a conduit for connection as he builds meaningful relationships through podcasting, writing, photoshoots and creativity. Here, you can find his ode to his mom and grandmother, his heartfelt reflection of his experience abroad, and a myriad of photoshoots that honor the love he has for the world and the people around him. The more Timberlake explores, the more he finds, and the more On The Fringe grows! 

Along with love and friendship, the insatiable quest for self knowledge and personhood take center stage as OTF gives Timberlake space to explore his curiosities, interrogate his comfortability, and challenge his accepted truths. Whenever Timberlake experiences tumult, OTF is where he puts the pieces together. OTF is a warm cave in the middle of a treacherous journey to self. Will he ever stop searching for the answer/s here? 

Timberlake prides himself on being queer and proud, which reflects within his projects and creations. On The Fringe allows Trey to stand on top of the traits that set him apartt, and reach for the stars. Queer experiences, solidarity, and advocacy will always be at the heart of On The Fringe as Timberlake has learned that living unabashedly himself and using his voice is the most powerful thing he can do. Timberlake’s own friction with “normal” has created this childlike wonder with the world, and a mind that seeks to create new narratives while he forges his own path. 

Along with his creative passions, Trey Timberlake seeks to leverage his relevant business experiences, his unique perspective, his passion for fashion, and creative nature to create a career in the fashion industry. Timberlake is very interested in creating compelling and meaningful stories that can resonate with a diverse range of audiences across multiple platforms. Through media, Timberlake is able to bolster his creativity and these narratives to yield a larger impact both in his work and personal life. The world is Timberlake’s oyster.. And a tasty one at that!
